All of our
work at The Ridge is focused on our mission: Meeting you where
you are, and helping you get to where God wants you to be.
The Ridge is about relationships, not "religion". We are
a purpose-driven church, and we strive to give people the answers to their questions.
CORE VALUES:
What We Believe
- The Church should be culturally
relevant while remaining doctrinally pure.
- All people matter to God and
should also matter to the Church.
- Biblically-based, relevant
teaching is the primary catalyst for transformation in
people’s lives.
- Christ's followers should
demonstrate authentic Christianity and desire continuous
growth.
- Because excellence honors God,
inspires and attracts people, we must
continually evaluate our methods and motivations.
- Christ's followers must discover
and fully utilize their spiritual gifts in order to radically
serve Christ and others with joy.
- Life-change happens best in Life Groups.
- Loving relationships should
permeate every aspect of life.
FOUNDATIONS:
The
Bible: We believe the Bible was written by men inspired by God, and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to
man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end and
truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. The
criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is Jesus
Christ.
God: We believe there is one and only one living and true God that reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy
Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without
division of nature, essence, or being.
Jesus
Christ: We believe that Christ is the eternal Son of God.
In His human life as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the
Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He honored the divine
law by His personal obedience, and in His death on the cross,
He paid the price for man's sin.
Man and Woman: We believe man and woman were created by
the special act of God, in His own image, and are the crowning
work of His creation. By his own free will, man sinned
against God and brought sin into the human race. The
sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created
mankind in His own image, and in that Christ died for mankind;
therefore every person possesses dignity and is worthy of
respect and Christian love.
Salvation: We believe salvation involves the redemption
of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained
eternal redemption for the believer.
Baptism: We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of obedience, symbolizing the believer's already proclaimed faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the life and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. We regularly conduct baptisms upon request.
Communion: We believe communion is a symbolic act of obedience where believers
remember the death of Jesus Christ and anticipate His
second coming. We hold communion services on the first Sunday of every month.
